Mission Control
I made a recent visit to my sister and her two sons Thomas and Harry. Thomas could be a budding newspaper editor and he showed me a very well laid out ficticous newspaper he had created for his neighbourhood. He also shares his uncle’s fascination in all things cartographic.
With this in mind I asked if he would like to do some research on the places we visit. He could then publish them on the blog. He agreed. Thomas, with the help of Harry, can monitor our performance and offer advice on places to visit.
Brittany – The First Two Weeks
This is the approximate route for the first two weeks or so of our adventure. We sail into Le Harve and then will hug the Normandy coast. We will visit Bayeux. We will then cut across the Cotentin peninsular toward St Malo. We aim to visit Mont St Michel, St Malo and a meet up with my dad near Dinan. We then plan to hug the red granit coastline on the north of Brittany bfore heading south across the Armorique Regional Park. At Chateaulin we will pick up the famous Brest to Nante canal.This, I hope, willl be flat. There will be a two day diversion off the canal to have a look at Carnac before we find the canal again and on towards Nante.
